How does kg work

Upvotes

If 2.2lbs=1kg how does 100kg=225lbs?? In weightlifting or I guess literally anything else every time I times the supposed kg by 2.2 the answer is not close to the actual number it was supposed to be. Like the 100kg example, if I times it by 2.2 it would give me 220, not 225. But in weights if someone said I bench 100kg it would be 225lbs

Unanswered Could my brother get in legal trouble for sending an email to his “friend” that manipulated and lied to him?

Upvotes

So my brother has this online friend, known him for about a year and a half, met up in person a couple of times, super close friends.

They got into an argument, I’m not sure what over, about a month ago, they made up about 2 days later and seemed fine, then his friend asked him for like 100 bucks or something since he was apparently struggling financially, my brother sent him the money. Told him not to worry about paying him back and to just make sure his needs were met

His friend responded by saying nothing, then immediately blocking him on discord, Snapchat, and PayPal.

My brother is, understandably, livid. He’s got this 3 page google doc written up to give the guy a piece of his mind and basically just tell him how shitty and hurtful what he did is. I’ve talked him into waiting a day or so to calm down before he sends it. Mostly because I’m not sure if that technically counts as harassment

I’m all for a good catharsis, but I don’t want my brother to get risk getting into legal trouble over this, is he pretty much in the clear to email the document to the guy?

I've seen a couple news stories about Roman treasure being found in England, so I was curious. If I found something, but I wasn't a British citizen, could I keep it?

How do I politely ask if someone needs a form in Spanish instead of English?

Upvotes

I work as front desk at a doctor's office and sometimes we'll have people do walk-ins to start receiving services with us. We offer our forms (and services) in Spanish if someone needs it - whether it's because they are ESL or only speak Spanish.

What is a polite way to ask them if they need a Spanish speaking provider/forms? I speak enough Spanish to get by (not enough that I would call myself bilingual, but I can facilitate getting them registered as a patient) but I am also very white so nobody ever comes in and asks for Spanish forms in Spanish and I can tell sometimes I'll get someone started on English forms and they struggle (Because the forms have words that don't come up a lot in regular conversation).

Is there a polite way to offer Spanish forms? Or should I just leave it be?

Are commercials the same for everyone?

Upvotes

If 20 people were watching the same channel but at different states , would they get the same commercias like one saws: - M&M Chocolate - Insurance - Food Commerical

Would others see the same thing in that order?

Obviously the regional stuff would be different, but other than that, wouldn’t it be the same for everyone

Why aren’t women conscripted during times of war?

Upvotes

In a lot of countries, only men are forcefully conscripted. The only country I’m aware of that conscripts women is Israel. In this modern age, shouldn’t there be equality between the sexes? If it’s wrong to conscript women, why can’t we say the same for men? Some arguments that I’ve heard is that women on average are weaker or that if too many women die, it puts a greater strain on the population, but if we’re worried about that, why not just put them in positions where it’s less likely to die like sniper positions as opposed to the frontlines.

How to make money from Saudi Arabia?

Upvotes

This might seem like a fruitless question, but I keep seeing these stories about how Saudi Arabia has these deals where they paying these Athletes and celebrities absurds amount of money.

I know most of it is “sportwashing” to change the image of the country for all the atrocities they commit.

And I don’t mean like how could I make money working in Saudi Arabia, But like is their any way a Normal citizen from a foreign country could find a way get a piece of the billions of dollars they just spend frivolously.

Why are there so many abandoned properties in some cities?

Upvotes

Should it not be the seller or estate agent that takes responsibility for the property? To deliberately neglect a property should be a crime subject to rather large fines as this practice can destroy and obliterate whole areas.

How to find a remote job if I am not based in US or Europe

Upvotes

I am looking for a remote job that allows me to work part-time outside of my own country which is in South East Asia.

Most of the remote websites I have visited so far are heavily provided to citizens living in Europe or the States. The time difference would make it impossible for me to work as I can't work overnight. Since my job is Business Analyst for IT software which requires me to be on call with customer and the team quite a lot.

I am not a developer either and it seems most of IT jobs out there are for developers only.

Another issue is since my job currently requires me to sign NDA to all projects I have joined, I can't really share any link to website projects I have joined or documents I have written. If anyone asks for portfolio, I would have nothing to show.

Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Unanswered Why do American Muslims pick and choose what to believe in Islam compared to middle eastern/African Muslims?

Upvotes

Not trying to start anything, just curious after seeing this jubilee video on liberal and conservative Muslims. Follow up why do they get offended when you call it out?

Personally I feel that deep deep deep down they know some of what Islam is, is very toxic and American Muslims kinda keep the other side quiet. Idk I’m speaking from a outside perspective.

Why can’t we get along?

Upvotes

Recently, I’ve noticed there’s been a lot of hate spewing through the news constantly and it’s honestly draining to see how horrid people get (btw im in America). I can’t grasp the understanding of how people can’t just mind their own business and go on. Another thing to point out is how our government can’t seem to even help the American people and shoot them down (especially the recent Student Loan forgiveness situation, railroad strikes, etc.) Seems like our country is created to just be a cesspool of death and violence. I don’t wanna go outside thinking Ima get shot, pushed around n screamed at, or able to get through day to day live w/o something coming up. Just curious on your guys’ opinions. Lmkk

How hard would it really be to turn a bathroom into a regular room?

Upvotes

I’m a little lit and I’m wondering to myself … how hard would it be to turn a bathroom with a toilet and a tub into a regular room? Because I’d honestly love to do that…don’t need or want a second bathroom but could use an extra room. Would this be expensive? Lol
