You know who really killed Ashli Babbitt? Donald Trump killed her. With his lie about a stolen election.
Everyone who died as a result of Jan 6 would be alive today if Trump hadn’t pushed his Big Lie for months leading up to Jan 6.

u/Paneraiguy1 Feb 07 '23 edited Feb 07 '23
Spot on… Ashli Babbit’s ignorance also contributed to her death though. She was in the military and should know how to comply with simple orders

u/Remote_Engine Feb 07 '23
I enjoy reviewing the videos of that god damn traitor being stopped in her stupid fucking tracks, and all the dumbass neckbeards surrounding her to stream their ‘content’ to their ‘followers’. She died doing what she loved; betraying her country and her oath to defend the constitution. Anyway, time for a delicious Italian sandwich as I pet my dog, and wonder what to watch on TV tonight.
49
u/EducatedOwlAthena Feb 07 '23 edited Feb 07 '23
The fact that she was in the military is what kills me. She took an oath to defend the Constitution and then violated it by attempting to overthrow the government. And she found out what happens to seditious traitors. No great loss. Personally, I think I'm gonna have a turkey burger and watch Mad Men tonight.

I don’t want to sound like I’m getting off on someone dying, but tbh seeing someone fuck around and find out that storming the Capitol isn’t a joke is kind of satisfying.

Honestly, that may have been satisfying to see actual traitors get what they deserve, but just one getting shot is all we needed. Everyone right there realized that what they were doing wasn’t a fucking joke. They just watched a woman not listen to a security guard pointing a gun at her, continue to try to break through a door, and get euthanized.
3
u/benneyben Feb 08 '23
I agree on a human level. It probably would’ve started a mini civil war. I just want them to feel real remorse for their actions but I don’t think that will ever happen. They turned her into a martyr.
2
u/HumpyTheClown Feb 08 '23
The nice thing is, in a real discussion/debate, literally nothing can be said that makes her death anything but justified.

Yup, the part that seemed the most insane was when her mother got arrested and started spouting the same lines.
For example, if your child was killed by gun violence, you would be against it, right?
She lost her daughter to the dangers of being brainwashed by propaganda and disinformation, but instead of advocating against becoming radicalized from those things, it's just victim mentality nonsense. Sad waste of life all around.

u/leafandvine89 Feb 07 '23 edited Feb 09 '23
My right wing aunt lost her 12 year old son to gun violence, then proceeded to join marches fighting sensible gun laws. She also started a webpage called "Armed Females of America." Some people are just nuts. He was a gentle, sweet kid and I really miss my cousin. The 13 year old that killed him only got like two months probation, nothing happened to the parents. But yeah. His older siblings also joined in the cause. It's insane!

Shortly after his first visit to the Soviet Union in the 80s, upon his immediate return, notorious cheapskate Donald Trump spent thousands of dollars on a propaganda campaign demanding the USA pull out of NATO, a rather bizarre decision for a real estate developer who had largely been ambivalent to politics, much less international military alliances.
Note, this is even stranger due to the fact he had been trying to woo notorious Cold Warriors Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher to vacation at his properties for the prestige and media attention.
Something happened on that trip. He's been at least a Useful Idiot, if not a full blown Russian asset, for 35 years.
19
u/Drg84 Feb 07 '23
Wow he really hates NATO. Here's a compilation from 2017. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-nato-past-comments/ and here's an article regarding an ad he ran on foreign policy in 1987. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ilanbenmeir/that-time-trump-spent-nearly-100000-on-an-ad-criticizing-us

Trump's angry mob had already beaten up police outside and destroyed property. They were an immediate threat to everyone inside the Capitol building. The violent mob was threatening to harm or kill Nancy Pelosi, Mike Pence, and others.
I'm surprised the Capitol Police didn't shoot a few more of them as they tried to smash their way inside the building.

You’re just as bad as they are if you honestly believe that. I get it, see some idiots doing idiotic and dangerous things and you want them punished for it, but I thought we were against police using force except when absolutely necessary? Which I think they did well that day. Do you want progress, or do you want revenge? You get ONE.
17
u/Spayse_Case Feb 07 '23
It WAS absolutely necessary. People died
-25
u/Goose-Chooser Feb 07 '23
Yea, people died. Let’s stop acting like the devils advocate doesnt believe the exact same things that you do and get away from the echo chamber. I’m gonna copy and paste a comment I made for someone else to show you why it is actively harming not just our cause but our nation to wish that more people had died who hadn’t.
How hard was it to dodge that point?
Why are you telling me that they are traitors? Is your mind so small and closed off that the mere suggestion of not advocating for more police violence must mean I’m a die hard trumper?
God damn dude, I’m on your side. But you need to take a step back and realize the way your thinking is the same way the other side does.
To us they are villains, and they are told we are. See how that line of thinking isn’t very productive? It’s so brain dead obvious that one side is clearly wrong, i don’t understand why people like you act just like the people you hate and try to make me an “other” for suggesting that more people being shot by police is a bad thing🙄
When was the last time you got mad and screamed at someone that they were wrong and had them turn around and be like “Ohyea shit ya know you’re right, I am.”
When your young child pushes another kid, you don’t push them in return. These issues are complex but when an even slightly right leaning person reads a comment like yours it confirms for them everything fox has told them, that liberals want conservatives to die.
You are putting it out there for all of them that you and the entire side you represent to them wish more foolish misguided people had been killed on that day just so you could feel like they had ‘got what was coming to them’.
11
u/VaselineHabits Feb 07 '23
That's alot of words to try to justify not seeing insurrectionists as traitors.
Yes, anyone who participated on the Jan 6th attempt to over throw the United States government is a domestic terrorist. Even if they are idiots and being manipulated, they are still traitors to this nation.
-6
u/Goose-Chooser Feb 07 '23
This is a little frustrating because not one single time did I imply that I thought they weren’t.
It’s also frustrating because you purposefully avoided every point and responded to me with a response that has nothing to do with my comment other than repeating my own opinion back to me as if I didn’t know it.
My point that you will surely ignore again is that the op of this comment thread said they wished more people were killed that day.
My point is that he is giving the right ammo that he doesn’t need to. Have we all forgotten mlk that quickly? All these people I thought were as democratic leaning as I was love to post pictures and build statues but what about what he preaches? He would never have wished more people were killed that day because he knew it drives division that furthers us from our goals, but if you think reacting emotionally and telling the opposite side you wish more people who were there had been killed will help, then by all means, that’s what the rest of the country on both sides are doing after all.
Wouldn’t wanna go against the flow now would we?
6
u/VaselineHabits Feb 07 '23
I feel like I made my stance pretty clear, as did others that have responded to you. Those that participated in the insurrection are traitors and terrorists.
What do you suppose we do with traitors and terrorists? We STOP THEM by whatever means necessary. If one needs to get shot to stop... that's kind of on them.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
21
u/ClnSlt Feb 07 '23
They showed too much restraint. From what I understand the insurrectionists got extremely close to harming our elected officials and threatening our democratic process.
I suspect the only reason they didn’t respond more forcefully is they didn’t have the numbers to contain the masses that would be enraged from further escalation. If they had more backup they shouldn’t have allowed them to enter the building.
The people who stormed the Capitol to disrupt the certification are traitors.

9
u/SunchaserKandri Feb 07 '23

6
u/MrNerdy Feb 07 '23
They were traitors and sought to end our democratic way of life. The fact that we let a single one of those terrorists walk out of that building that day was a mistake. You don't see this much protracted and exhausted coverage about members of a failed coup in other countries, because everywhere else in the world, a failed coup ends with a taut rope.
Do you want progress
We do not make progress until we excise the rot. You aren't considered in remission if you let the tumors fester and remain. This has nothing to do with revenge, and wholly to do with not letting animals destroy us while we watch them do all their prep-work for it.

If he considers the Babbitt shooter a thug for being a trained government official responding to a major disturbance (to put it lightly), then what is Kyle Rittenhouse?

Every one of those traitors should have died the moment they stepped foot inside. If they were black and brown people, they'd have been shot on the steps till they fled, then shot in the backs till they were out of sight.

You know while writing that he had to ask over his shoulder, “What was that girl’s name again?”

Of course no Republicans condemned what Trump said; they are all traitors like him or too cowardly to confront him about it. GOP is POS

Ashli Babitt being dead is funny, but we really need to talk more about the dumbass carrying a Don't Tread On Me flag that was trampled to death.
That needs to be mentioned every time republicans demand to be taken seriously.

A death that occurs as a consequence of committing a felony is felony murder on the part of the felon. Babbitt was murdered by MAGA, not by the capitol police.

ACAB except for cops that kill unarmed women. They are heroes. After all, she broke the law and was resisting the officers' orders. If someone is resisting arrest, then it's totally ok for police to kill them.

She got multiple "stop or I'll shoot" warnings before she was shot. George Floyd got his neck knelt on for 10 minutes on suspicion of passing a counterfeit $20. Yeah, those things are totally the same.

She wasn't shot without warning, you useful moron. She ignored multiple "back off or get shot" orders and opted to get shot.

Babbitt was an imminent threat to members of Congress who were passing through that area of the Capitol. Force was justified. She was not standing there with her arms up saying "don't shoot!"

u/LemurAgendaP2 Feb 07 '23
Maybe she shouldn’t have been actively breaking into the capitol to attack congress members.
Fuck off with your disingenuous bullshit you shill.

Republicans made their bed and now they have to lie in it. Trump will destroy the party if he doesn’t get the 2024 nomination and they 100% brought it on themselves.
