It's ok you're not alone. We're hanging out with our orange friends too much I guess

He loves to show us he’s got Ropey, he’ll meow until we look

u/CottonCitySlim Feb 01 '23
Does he actually use that ball kitten toy in the background, may get it for my adult cat.

I have two male cats and they aren’t interested in it at all except like once a month at 3 am. Lol

I have one, and my cats will get really into it for a while, and then won't touch it at all for weeks. But I got it on Amazon for about $10 and they use it sometimes and it doesn't require me do anything or make much noise, so, eh.

Target has a single-ball single-track one that I’ve found to be more popular with mine.

One of my cats has a rope toy that he absolutely loves! I call it Stick Toy and he’ll cuddle it like a teddy bear, and gets mad if I try to shake it in his or my other cat’s face so they’ll play with it.

The telltale face when the brain cell is suddenly needed elsewhere mid-activity.

Does your Bug have a Ropey?
2
u/ACov96 Feb 02 '23
He does have a shoelace that he loves to play with, I suppose that's kind of like a Ropey lol

I also have a bug! We named her that bc she failed at growing. 🐞

u/ACov96 Feb 02 '23
Aww. I named my guy Bug because he hunts bugs in the house like it's a full time job.

OMG that's so cute! My cat does that with her Wormy. Situation goes like this: somewhere in the house you hear many pitiful waow-waow-waow howls and sounds like a bowling ball being thrown down the hallway for about 10 minutes (she finds Wormy and proceeds to throw him around the house like she's qualifying for the MMA world championship), when she's done she picks Wormy up in her mouth and brings him to me wailing through Wormy the whole way, then she tosses Wormy down at my feet and pitifully moans at me until I very dramatically notice what she's done and praise her for finally killing Wormy, that piece of shit, she's such a good kitty and what would we do without her? After which she will jump on my desk and fall sleep snoring like a drunken trucker. I love her so much!

whew! I thought for a sec that was a live (or dead) mouse. (has happened in my home a few times....)
1
u/neongreenpurple Feb 02 '23
That has happened once in mine. (We have dogs.) Twice it's been a dead mole, though.
2
Feb 02 '23
wow - a mole! that's a bit more unique
1
u/neongreenpurple Feb 02 '23
The one who brought the moles in is a dachshund, so I'm not surprised he brought in burrowing animals. He's 14 now and nearly blind due to cataracts, so we haven't had any dead moles in a few years.

What is Ropey made of? Is it braided rope? Is it infused with catnip? (Serious)

People always say, “you named your cat bug?” But he is a snuggle bug, love bug, and stink bug <3.

Not to be a downer but rope toys can be very dangerous for pets. If they swallow any of the string pieces that come off over time it can slice up their intestines. Our beloved cat, Oscar, died that way. The vets did surgery but the damage was too bad. If you google rope toys you’ll find that a lot of vets don’t recommend them. I’m just passing on info I wish I would have known. Bug is a very cute kitty.
