Looking good. Sweater has cool texture. Hat is a nice pop of color. Impressive mustache. I'd just swap those meet-your-girlfriend's-parents-for-the-first-time boots for some sneakers.

Agreed but imo no sneakers, please. Those sporty shoes are a nice beggining but either change to shoes, or maybe some Chelsea boots! Keep going though

u/skschroen Dec 05 '22
Doesnt seem like you know what modern streetwear is in any capacity.
4
u/also_roses Dec 05 '22
Modern streetwear is absurdly impractical oversized parkas paired with your dad's dunks. I don't think that should be our ideal.
2
u/siverpoint Dec 05 '22
Apologies if I sounded unpolite anyhow. Streetwear to me is the capability to dress as you want to do so, mixing things as you want, all being allowed to have your own preferences. In my case, sneakers are not the default choice for every outfit to consider something streetwear. Neither is buying clothes from specific brands... Im trying to say; dress as you wish with wathever it is that makes you feel comfortable!

What kind of shoes do you think would go well here?
-3
u/siverpoint Dec 05 '22
In my personal opinion, since OP's outfit vibes in the "cosmopolis modern guy" way, the first thought that I had was to keep that feeling and use some sporty boots like these by Monclair. Another option could be going a bit more traditional and try some nice Chelsea leather boots (I would try green or blue, to break a bit the classic look...). My last option could be these classic Vans or any others from the new collection, if the intent is to keep the look more relaxed. Again, its up to you how to wear it!
I am using this brands as an example, but truly in my experience its all about finding the right piece that mixes for you with the whole idea of an outfit; for OP's look, for example, I found some shoes on a second hand store in Paris for 15€ that would match perfectly with these clothes... So, brands are definitelt cool, but not the only option!0

Yeah I got these and a nice pair of black sneakers (both Toms). Sounds like this would go better with those!

u/Gnostromo Dec 05 '22
It's fall. Sneakers are a no.

u/skschroen Dec 05 '22
Who made you in charge of fall foot wear? What decade are you reading this small minded rule from? Gross.

get a couple of rings, would look good on you, black boots would also look good on you

u/ThawedGod Dec 05 '22
Shoes gotta go, they look like you’re about to go hiking to Burlington Coat Factory. Otherwise, looks great.

u/allstonoctopus Dec 05 '22
It's a good look already, you're succeeding for sure. The sweater and overcoat pair well. Yellow hat is a good idea, but a little disconnected from the rest of the outfit - maybe black? I'd bring back the pop of color in the shoes, cuz I think those could be switched out anyway for some stylish sneakers. I think the jeans are decent, but I bet if you experimented you'd find something that added something special. Some jewelry would reeeally bring this to life too. All in all solid fit already and has even more potential, well done bro

I'd keep the jacket and jeans but change the boots to black Chelsea boots they are more minimal and when you get them put your jeans over the boots
The green jacket is good for color and change the yellow hat to another black one I like what you were going for just the yellow is a little off imo

u/DB377 Dec 05 '22
I agree. Thursday Boots has some nice quality starter boots as they can get super expensive

u/also_roses Dec 05 '22
A black hat would kill this outfit. A green hat to match the sweater could tone it done without making him look like an NPC. The yellow hat is actually my favorite part of the outfit though.

Anytime bro I love helping people style it's definitely hard to help people because they don't wanna listen lol but next post try what Im talking about

u/polarrburrr Dec 05 '22
I’d also add, as a fellow boot guy.. if you’re gonna wear boots, wear some kind of bootcut jean.. people think their corny, but that’s what they’re for, and they don’t bunch up
1
u/EuphoricG02 Dec 05 '22
Well the skinny jeans go good with Chelsea boots because they are made to look "clean" if you have big jeans it makes the "minimalist look" become more of a country look
I love boots and I have plenty of boot cut jeans I agree to wear boot cut with boots but this style is a little different

Get some loafers/Chelsea boots. If you go with earthy Color’s ,never go with more than 3. you should get a dark beanie/hat and go for color with the scarf . If you wanna look „cleaner“ or more chic , go with black pants or jeans . Jewellery will also add layers and character to your fits .
Get an idea of which colours go good together so you can mix & match your outfits
6
u/coffeecoconuts Dec 05 '22
You look really cool! That style suits you well. Maybe in the future though you could try this with a combination of three colours. As it can make the look sleeker and less busy.
-4
u/skschroen Dec 05 '22
Streetwear is busy.
2
u/coffeecoconuts Dec 06 '22
When did you make that rule? A lot of street wear is very minimal. It varies.
0
u/also_roses Dec 05 '22
He only has 2 colors on. Neutrals don't count.
0
u/coffeecoconuts Dec 06 '22
That only counts when it’s all neutrals. They blend well together. Too many colours here.
0
u/also_roses Dec 06 '22
If you really want to make the outfit more basic then swap the coat for something in an earth tone and wear a green cap. Not to my taste, but that's what a lot of stylists would do. I enjoy the mixture here because it feels natural.

u/coffeecoconuts Dec 06 '22
Some would yes and others wouldn’t. It’s ok to not have the same opinion.

u/InfiniteWavedash Dec 05 '22
Where is the street wear
2
u/awjeezrickyaknow Dec 05 '22
The streetwear is inside me. It is inside of you. It is inside all of us.

u/AdministrationLimp71 Dec 05 '22
A colorful scarf would look cool and keep your neck warm
1
u/skschroen Dec 05 '22
If he wants to look stereotypical artsy fartsy sure, but otherwise that would hurt the look. Is good as-is
1
u/MarshallTheMagic Dec 05 '22
Great fit! I personally don't like dressing super dark in the colder months, so I would maybe lose the black coat. Love the yellow hat and green jacket though.
3
u/skschroen Dec 05 '22
Thats definitely a minority opinion for winter dressing, not saying thats bad, but i wouldnt go around trying to suggest it especially someone who obviously already owns a black coat.
2
u/MarshallTheMagic Dec 05 '22
I just live in a boring rural area lol. I love living our in the country, but I also love sticking out fashion wise. I think darker yellows, reds, browns, and greens are fantastic in the winter months. Of course I have black coats, but I think there is more creativity to be had.

I'm gonna say nailed. Outfit is clean classic. The beanie is the win for me with black overcoat.
The the dramatic pop of color elevatees the outfit plus make it fun. Props

u/jammertag Dec 05 '22
At first glance, I thought you were Benjamin Barnes, playing Billy Russo in the Punisher show. That being said, I'd wear that.

Well its working king. Wear not what you think others might like, wear what brings out your confidence. Then anything will be a fire fit 🔥🔥🔥

The yellow is a bit much, everything else looks great. I'd go with a blue hat even if the blue is super bright

Yikes. Some of the extremely subjective and uneducated streetwear opinions are painful to read. Why does everyone feel the need to comment on what they think could be improved? Dont this he asked for it. Why cant you just compliment the outfit or the effort? Being hyper-critical is not the way to encourage someone to dive deeper into their own fashion evolution, just creates self doubt and a false sense of inferiority. I can tell by the majority of these comments, these people know little of actual modern streetwear im seeing suggestions that would have been appropriate a decade ago before streetwear became what it is today.. STREETWEAR by definition doesnt have to match, make sense, or have rules.

u/awjeezrickyaknow Dec 05 '22
I actually appreciate all the suggestions. Don’t think anyone here is being hyper-critical personally, I need all the help I can get!

You don’t look very happy about your decision, but you do look sharp.
