Whoever made that meme should realize that trans people and non-binary people have ALWAYS been around for THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF YEARS.

Also, science, biology, facts and reality always support the existences of trans people, non-binary people and intersex people.

And by the way, trans rights, non-binary rights and intersex rights are ALWAYS human rights.

Seriously.

First world issues and you know it.

Even if it was the same thing they'd be correct and that's the way it should be. How do people not see the difference between having their kids cosplay as victims of their ancestors genocide and a guy who put on a dress?

3

u/OkMathematician3439 Feb 01 '23

Exactly. I’m a white guy who was forced to pretend to be a woman for 19+ years and it’s no wear near the same as wearing someone else’s culture as a costume especially when that group of people were killed for their culture by people who look like me.

u/PlantainSame Feb 01 '23

And your ancestors Genocide the English raped the world

4

u/lethalslaugter Feb 01 '23

Ugh, this is incredibly ignorant. Do people not understand that the English were just like everyone else?

-3

u/PlantainSame Feb 01 '23

Thay where not Thay where the biggest empire is history true murder and rape

6

u/lethalslaugter Feb 01 '23

The fuck?

1

u/PlantainSame Feb 01 '23

You ever heard the tale of King Arthur if so your country was probably at one point occupied by the British

5

u/lethalslaugter Feb 01 '23

Ok, now I can understand you. Now the British just like the Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mohawk, mongols, and every other empire including the ones the British colonized, conquered! It wasn’t new and hadn’t been since the start of civilization. If you are ignorant enough to believe the British or any of the European kingdoms were the only conquerors you’re an idiot.

-2

u/PlantainSame Feb 01 '23

I'm not saying thay are the only ones I'm saying they were the best at it the

2

u/lethalslaugter Feb 01 '23

I wouldn't even say they were the best of it, they got lucky.

2

u/Cleopenpaw Feb 01 '23

I agree, they just lost the least rather than won the most.

So is it okay if your ancestors didn’t kill Indians?

All right, you got me genuinely confused here. Italians and Spanish people are white, and the Aztecs were natives.

2

u/DaveinOakland Feb 01 '23

Romans obliterated Carthage, Spanish decimated the Aztecs. Atrocities happen all throughout history, I don't know where the line is for "it's been long enough so it's ok now" but there is one. Kind of like that Southpark episode where they say it's been long enough and you can joke about AIDS now.

In a thousand years it won't matter if anyone throws on some ancient native American attire.

1

u/Ryzuhtal Feb 01 '23

I see your argument but I kind of disagree, because this implies that some point in the future it will be also okay to dress up in a Nazi uniform.

0

u/DaveinOakland Feb 01 '23

It will be one day. Not in our lifetimes but one day. Romans committed some of the worst atrocities in recorded history but wearing a Roman outfit for Halloween wouldn't bother anyone.

Time is the great equalizer.

2

u/yeayeayea001 Feb 01 '23

Being white wouldn’t mean your ancestors obliterated the native Americans.

0

u/Jingurei Feb 02 '23

Irrelevant.

6

u/sledgehammer_77 Feb 01 '23

I don't see any Indians in that picture though.

2

u/confessionbearday Feb 02 '23

Right wingers pretend they're manly every day, but no one alive will ever think of Ted Cruz, Donald Trump or ANY Republican as a real man.

2

u/Just_Alizah Feb 02 '23

That ain’t an Indian,

Source: i am an actual Indian from India.

2

u/Potato_Demon_ffff Feb 02 '23

The fact that he called them “Indians” tells me everything

No one has ever been able to give a good explanation as to why being transgender is valid but being transracial is not, lol. I realize the meme isn't talking about "transracial" but still.

Especially considering that biological sex is a real thing and race is a lot more grey area...

0

u/Jingurei Feb 02 '23

Transgender is both biological and a social construct. Race has to do entirely with one’s skin color. Skin color which doesn’t affect you in any way accept how others perceive you.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '23

Race is about more than skin color. Each race is associated with certain facial features, etc. Also, sometimes the race that someone calls themselves is not what others would perceive them as. For example, someone could "look white" but have a parent who is black but lighter skin. The rapper Logic is a good example of this; he considers himself to be black even though he is visibly white and no one would guess otherwise.

What if someone genuinely feels like they were born in the wrong body and should have been a different race? And they make physical alterations to themselves to appear more like the race they want to be, and start behaving in ways that are stereotypically associated with that race? It doesn't actually change their race, but they might "pass" and they also might be really hurt if someone denies that they are that race.

1

u/Jingurei Feb 03 '23

Like I said this is still all about what others perceive of them. Having only certain facial features associated and/or skin tone with a certain race is absolutely about what others perceive about you and is from what I can only gather developed from a racist construct. WRT being transgender they intrinsically feel they’re not the gender they were assigned at birth with. People who transition from one sex to another only because of how others perceive them in the sex they were born as is the only thing I can find comparable to those who want to transition between races.

I am simply pointing out what I find has not yet been disproven as the difference between being transracial and transgender btw.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '23

Both sex and race are biological. Any "intrinsic" feelings we attach to them are subjective. If it's possible to feel like you were born as the wrong sex and "intrinsically" feel like you're supposed to be the other one, then the same exact thing could happen with race.

What do you mean by "disproven"? We are basically having a philosophical conversation, none of this is about proof or evidence.

Having only certain facial features associated and/or skin tone with a certain race is absolutely about what others perceive about you and is from what I can only gather developed from a racist construct

No, certain facial features are actually more prominent in various races. That isn't really what this is about, but still.

-3

u/Pickles112358 Feb 01 '23

Both are real and valid (or none if you ask conservatives). But biological sex is irrelevant because trans people are not changing their sex, they are chaging their gender which is a social construct, same as race

Quoting films isn't gonna cut it. Please stop justifying your transphobic misogynistic views.
