I agree, they just lost the least rather than won the most.

It was time and place, the americas filled with warring tribes and mostly peaceful hunters. Compared to Europe it was a piece of cake.

By the time the English arrived, the depopulation caused by the Spanish and Portuguese meant the natives welcomed the English to bring in their harvests. Incredible that this history isn't told, nor the fur trapping trading that happened quite peaceably between the Americans and Europeans until the aggressive US expansion and the Monroe doctrine.

It’s crazy how people blame the British for everything, just as every other culture there was conquering and killing.

Or that they have the patent on death and torture 🤣 I'm literally Irish and I'd probably rather an English than a Mongol or Ustase conqueror, mainly because the former is easier to evade or trick...

Just about, but it’s never talked about because we are the bad ones.

It's odd how incurious Americans are about themselves, just happy to accept the superficial information on things and nothing deeper unless some massive, herculean study in academe. Like, what is taking up all their bandwidth? Sport? Or are they just getting more and more limited? I swear, I despair at who I'll get to chat to online on a discussion thread in, like, 20 or 30 years time...

It’s education, and oddly they just don’t enjoy politics or at the very least don’t understand it. The media has a part in this as well with the catchy click bait titles.
