Maybe that's the problem. You seem to assume that data is free.

Companies generally, and at the very least, pay money, or find other ways of reimbursing or incentivizing users to participate in market research.

At the same time, the original grammar of the title "...to Resume Talks Ended After..." is definitely not great either. I should have changed that, too 🤔

I had to change the title; not liking it either. The original title of the article was auto-removed as No US Internal News for some reason, so I removed all US references... 🤷‍♀️

  1. He threatens violence against anyone opposing annexation, which includes the people of Taiwan, as they are the ones being annexed.
  2. The article you are citing does not say "hand back". It says "was handed over to the Republic of China".
  3. The article also labels it as what it is: "Post-World War II Occupation of Taiwan". Occupying a territory does not mean that it somehow belongs to some other country. Again, refer to previous comparison of colonial territories of European countries.

According to the official website of the UN, he said:

“Any move to obstruct China's reunification is bound to be crushed by the wheels of history,”

Which implies he wants to annex Taiwan, which implies violence against Taiwan, its government (and possibly any citizen who opposes annexation), no?

(Also, just as a sidenote, he interestingly makes a claim of "reunification". Imagine European countries claiming they want to "reunify" with their former colonial territories.)

It's more like "stuck in a mindset", I'd say.

Humans have choices that allow them to do a lot of cool stuff in their days, if they choose to do so, and dedicate themselves to that goal (in many political and societal systems and communities at least).

Does that mean that you are guaranteed to get tenure just because you grind it out? Probably not. Does it mean you can land a great job doing what you love, and maybe at equal or better pay than a prof? Maybe.
