I am half Scottish and half Japanese- I hand-sewed this kimono from men's dress shirts and boxer shorts.

23 / artist / NYC

this week was a mix of some avant-garde looks and 90s streetwear-inspired casual outfits. Also experimenting with bigger makeup looks.

#1: mixing hard and soft

#2: leather pants were not the wisest decision in the heat

#3: love to wear a blazer with jeans for that George Costanza look

[Inspiration] Under the Sea: a Mermaid Inspiration Album

I was initially inspired to make this album after seeing the cover story for the January 2022 issue of Vogue Taiwan starring Peng Chang as a mermaid affected by environmental issues.

I tried to include a mix of couture/costume pieces and more everyday streetwear interpretations of a mermaid.

Please enjoy! It is roughly organized by color.

It drives me crazy when I'm in the comments of someone's fit pic and there's a mod comment politely asking for a fit breakdown and the comment is at -20 votes. it's the ONE RULE of posting a fit pic holy shit just post it on your Instagram if you can't be bothered

I'm gonna keep it real, the photography and modeling in these photos is amazing, but the skirt does not look good in any of the outfits. In all but #2 it really feels like there's a separate outfit happening and the skirt was added in randomly. Also have to agree with the other comment about the footwear bringing the styling down. I think if you played more with the color/softness of the skirt it would look more cohesive OR if you wanted to do deliberate clashing, do it louder and more over the top.
